The scenario for admissions to Engineering & Medical colleges has under gone a major change over the past few years. Admissions to both Engineering & Medical Colleges are now based on Entrance Exams and Std. XII marks.

Entrance Exams like JEE Main & JEE Advanced (Admission to IITs), MHT-CET (Admission to Engineering/ Medical Colleges in Maharashtra) are exams which have a distinctly different pattern as compared to the regular school or Board Exams of Std X or Std XII.

Entrance Exams are a test of fundamental concepts as against the conventional exams of Std. X or Std. XII which are more a test of one's memory.
